Behind every health service that patients learn to trust, there is usually a person whose experience shaped how that care gets delivered. The questions a team asks, the way patients are treated, and the standards a service holds itself to all tend to trace back to the people who built it.
At Gnosis For Her, that person is Dr. Margaret Bredehoft. As Chief Development Officer of TruArc Health, she helped bring the women’s breast imaging platform to life, and she remains closely involved in how patients experience it. Her career spans public health, private healthcare, and entrepreneurship, and that range informs the approach behind Gnosis For Her.
“Women deserve breast imaging that treats them as whole people, not appointments. The goal behind Gnosis for Her is to compress the time to care, not the breast. That belief is what shaped Gnosis For Her from the beginning.” – Dr. Margaret Bredehoft
Here’s a closer look at her background, her recognition among Orange County’s leading women, and why accessible women’s health became a personal focus.

Who Is Dr. Margaret Bredehoft?
Dr. Margaret Bredehoft serves as Chief Development Officer of TruArc Health, an Irvine-based healthcare innovation company. In that role, she helped build the company’s three lines of business from strategy through launch: Gnosis, a full-service clinical laboratory; Gnosis For Her, a women’s breast imaging platform; and Healthy Campus, a school-based behavioral health technology solution.
Her academic background reflects a long commitment to health and prevention. She earned a BS in biological and biomedical sciences from UC Irvine, followed by a Master of Public Health in health education and promotion and a Doctor of Public Health in preventive care, both from Loma Linda University.
What sets her apart is the breadth of her experience. She has led at the highest levels of county government, built and scaled private healthcare operations, and founded her own company. That combination of public sector, private sector, and entrepreneurial work gives her a wider view of what patients need and how to deliver it.
A Career Rooted in Public Health
From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Bredehoft served as Orange County’s Public Health Director, where she led the county’s COVID-19 response for a population of 3.2 million residents. It was one of the most demanding public health assignments in the region during that period.
Her tenure included several measurable wins. She co-commanded Operation Independence, which reached a vaccination rate above 98% among seniors aged 65 and older. She secured a $27 million competitive CDC grant for strengthening public health infrastructure, and she closed a $19 million budget deficit within two years.
Her leadership experience predates her time in county government. For 16 years, she founded and ran Vitalae Ventures, building a national wellness client base that served more than 65,000 employees across the country. She later took on leadership roles at Providence, where she helped open community clinics and recruit and train caregivers across Southern California.
Recognition Among Orange County’s Leading Women
In 2026, Dr. Bredehoft was nominated for the Orange County Business Journal Women in Business Awards, one of the region’s most established honors for female leadership. The program recognizes women across industries including finance, healthcare, technology, education, and real estate.
The recognition highlights women who are driving innovation and positive change across Orange County. For Dr. Bredehoft, the nomination reflects a career spent building healthcare initiatives that reach large populations and address real gaps in access.
That same orientation carries into her work at Gnosis For Her. Her public health background and her track record launching early-detection innovations, including the EdenDx endometrial cancer detection test at Gnosis, inform how she thinks about access and outcomes. While those innovations use different technologies, the underlying philosophy is consistent: find health issues earlier, and make that possible for more people.
Why Gnosis For Her Resonates
Gnosis For Her was built around a straightforward mission: accessible, patient-centered women’s breast imaging. The platform focuses on giving women a clear and comfortable imaging experience, backed by the diagnostic strength of the broader TruArc Health organization.
For Dr. Bredehoft, this work is personal. Rather than staying purely behind the scenes as an executive, she remains client-facing, staying connected to the people the service is meant to serve. That choice says a lot about how she views her role and the value she places on patient relationships.
Her public health lens shapes the whole approach. Years spent working on prevention, early detection, and community access inform a model centered on catching issues sooner and reaching women who might otherwise fall through the cracks. Her background in preventive care is not a side note to this work. It is the foundation of it.
Community and Industry Involvement
Dr. Bredehoft’s commitment to health extends well beyond her executive roles. She served as a preceptor with the UCI School of Public Health, mentoring students on the intersection of public health and business. Through the EquityInOC initiative, she led programs addressing food insecurity, access to care, and homelessness, and she led Orange County’s first transgender and LGBTQIA+ community access forums.
Her professional involvement is equally deep. She has been active in the American Academy of Lifestyle Medicine and was a founding member of QualcommLife, among other affiliations across healthcare and business.
This community-first orientation shows up in the Gnosis For Her patient experience. A leader who has spent decades focused on equity and access tends to build services that reflect those same priorities, and that shapes how patients are welcomed and cared for.
The Leadership Behind Your Care
Dr. Margaret Bredehoft brings a rare mix of public health expertise, operational leadership, and genuine care for the people she serves. That combination shapes a breast imaging experience built on access, trust, and a real understanding of what women need from their healthcare.
Gnosis For Her reflects that vision. The platform pairs a patient-centered approach with the credibility of a leader who has spent her career improving health outcomes across Orange County and beyond.
